Robert Half has partnered with a project-based business to recruit for a Financial Controller, based in South Leeds.
This is a senior finance position with responsibility for overseeing financial reporting, financial controls, planning and commercial performance, while partnering closely with operational and senior leadership teams.
Key responsibilities
- Lead monthly and annual financial reporting processes.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Oversee balance sheet management, reconciliations and financial reviews.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Provide financial analysis, insight and challenge to support business decision-making.
- Partner with operational teams to monitor financial performance, costs and profitability.
- Oversee the financial management of a portfolio of projects, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Support cash flow, working capital and wider commercial initiatives.
- Provide financial guidance and insight to senior stakeholders and project teams.
- Lead, develop and support the finance team.
- Drive improvements across finance processes, systems and reporting.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Several years' post-qualified experience in a senior finance position.
- Previous experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or another project-based environment.
- Strong background in financial control, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience supporting the financial management of projects and monitoring costs and profitability.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.
- Strong Excel and wider Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.
- Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing finance professionals. xsabvtc
