Financial Controller/Finance Director Designate

Robert Half Accountancy and Finance are recruiting for a Financial Controller/Finance Director Designate to join a dynamic SME based in Halifax. This is a fantastic opportunity that allows for a clear path to Finance Director after a short probationary period.

You will lead the finance function and oversee a small team. This position involves ensuring robust financial management while contributing to strategic growth and operational advancements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual accounts
• Manage all treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and foreign currency
• Lead the implementation of a new financial and ERP system
• Deliver robust budgets and forecasts that drive profitability and working capital optimisation
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and external professional bodies for compliance, tax planning, and strategic initiatives
• Oversee payroll, pensions, life assurance, and company-wide insurance policies
• Provide actionable insights for cost savings, efficiency improvement, and profit recognition
• Take on board-level duties post-probation, including leading AGMs, pursuing acquisitions, conducting due diligence, and raising finance

Requirements:

• Experienced Financial Controller with a minimum of five years proven experience in a similar role
• ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified Accountant
• Manufacturing experience advantageous
• Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and confident communicator at all levels

Salary & Benefits:

• £75,000 – £80,000 (Enhanced salary and package for the Finance Director promotion)
