Robert Half is partnering with a large organisation based in Central Birmingham to recruit an Interim Head of Management Accounts for an initial 3-6 month contract. This is a senior hands-on role, taking full ownership of the month-end close process while also providing commercial insight and business partnering support across the organisation. The business needs someone who can quickly get into the detail, lead the management accounts process, improve reporting quality and support senior stakeholders with clear, useful financial analysis.
As Interim Head of Management Accounts, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the month-end close and ensuring accurate, timely and insightful reporting across the business.
- Leading the preparation and review of management accounts, variance analysis and commentary.
- Business partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders to explain performance and challenge assumptions.
- Managing and supporting members of the finance team through a busy period.
- Working closely with senior finance leadership on ad hoc analysis, projects and commercial decision support.
We are looking for an experienced senior finance professional who can take ownership quickly and operate confidently in a large organisation:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Strong experience leading month-end close and management accounts processes.
- Excellent commercial business partnering experience.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced interim who enjoys taking control of month-end, adding structure quickly and providing proper commercial insight to senior stakeholders.
