Robert Half is partnering with an engineering business in Dudley to recruit an Interim Financial Controller. This is a hands-on role supporting the business through a busy period, with a focus on month-end, reporting, controls and providing clear financial insight to the senior leadership team.
As Interim Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function day to day, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and timely delivery of key financial information. You will work closely with operational and senior management teams, providing the financial clarity needed to support decision making across the business.
- Prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Provide commercial insight to senior stakeholders across the business
- Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting routines
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activity
- Oversee transactional finance and ensure AP, AR and payroll processes are running effectively
- Partner with operational teams to understand project costs, margins and performance
- Support audit, compliance and any ad hoc finance projects as required
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior finance lead
- Background in engineering, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be highly beneficial
- Strong management accounting, controls and reporting experience
- Comfortable working in a hands-on interim role
- Able to improve processes quickly and bring structure to a busy finance function
