Key Responsibilities

  • This role will allow you to take ownership of the management accounting process, oversee financial operations, and contribute to external and statutory reporting processes in collaboration with professional advisors.
  • You’ll play an integral role in strengthening financial processes, delivering commercial value through cost control initiatives, and supporting business growth with insightful financial data and analytics.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and reports for multiple assets/entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines while serving as the primary liaison for external auditors and professional advisors.
  • Leveraging financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making as you get to know the business in greater depth.
  • Controlling financial operations including payroll, VAT returns, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Driving efficiencies by enhancing systems, processes, and workflows, including involvement in transitioning the company to new financial systems (e.g., Xero).
  • Supporting top-line growth and cost-base control by influencing non-financial stakeholders within the organisation.
  • Setting up systems and processes for new business ventures, such as establishing financial reporting templates, bank accounts, and organisational structures.

About You

This role requires someone who is motivated, values-driven, and ready to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. We’re seeking someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can be a positive influence across the business. The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience: Proven success in an accounting or finance role; part-qualified / qualified-by-experience accountants will also be considered.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, financial operations, and the ability to add value through detailed financial analysis.
  • Technology Savvy: Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and BrightPay, as well as advanced Excel skills. Experience implementing and improving financial systems is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving capabilities, complemented by a commercial and strategic outlook.
  • Team-Focused: A collaborative approach with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Values-Driven Approach: A genuine alignment with the organisation's principles, ensuring actions reflect shared values.
