This position is based in Summertown offering a salary of up to £32,000 along with excellent benefits. The School Summer Fields is a boarding and day school for approximately 320 boys, aged 4 to 13 years. The school is situated in Summertown, two miles north of the centre of Oxford and is set within 70 acres of grounds. It is extremely well resourced with many outstanding and modern facilities, which are continually enhanced. They offer excellent teaching, traditional values and exceptional pastoral care, whilst continuing to build on a strong academic legacy with an individual focus on strengthening each boy’s confidence and abilities. In addition to the academic curriculum, sport plays an important part in the life of the school, as does music, art, design and technology and drama; recent results in music scholarship exams have been outstanding. They offer a supportive environment where creativity, excellence, and a love for education thrive. The Role The Deputy Finance Officer will support all aspects of Finance, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, and deputise for the Finance Officer as required. Key responsibilities: Purchase Ledger Monitoring the AP inbox Ensuring all incoming invoices are correctly coded Ensuring all invoices are appropriately authorised Reviewing monthly supplier statements and ensuring timely payment to suppliers Generating proposed supplier payments and obtaining appropriate authorisations Distributing remittances and correspondence relating to the purchase ledger Working with the finance team to suggest and implement process improvements Fees Ledger Assisting with collating and preparing information relevant to the billing of school fees Inputting data onto the Fees Ledger from source documents Other Assisting with term end procedures including journals and reconciliations Assisting with the collation of information relevant to; preparation of budgets, termly management accounts and information regarding VAT Distributing petty cash within the school About You Previous experience working within a similar role Ability to process data accurately with high level of detail Excellent communication skills Able to multitask, prioritise and work on your own initiative Good IT skills including Excel Benefits 5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays Life Assurance Scheme Employee Assistance Programme Contributory private healthcare scheme Lunch during term-time Swimming club membership Onsite parking Discount on holiday activity clubs run on site Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
