- Financial ServicesLocation: CoventryAn established financial services organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Manager to take ownership of key tax reporting, compliance and planning activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional to join an established financial services business, working closely with senior stakeholders, external advisors and wider group teams.
You will have genuine ownership of the tax function, with the opportunity to influence processes, identify efficiencies and play a key role in managing tax risk across the business.
The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for a broad range of tax activities across the UK, providing technical expertise and ensuring all reporting and compliance requirements are met.
Key responsibilities will include: Leading UK tax reporting, including VAT, Intrastat, Corporation Tax and relevant employee-related taxesPreparing accurate and timely tax information for month-end, statutory and internal reportingManaging transfer pricing documentation, including Local File requirements and reportingActing as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, HMRC, external tax advisors and third-party providersMonitoring changes in UK tax legislation and assessing their impact on the businessSupporting tax planning opportunities, including capital allowance optimisation and tax-efficient structuresProviding specialist tax input into new products, projects and business initiativesIdentifying opportunities to improve tax processes, controls and reportingSupporting the development of the wider finance team and providing guidance to the Tax AccountantEnsuring tax risks are identified, managed and appropriately reportedAbout YouYou will be a qualified finance or tax professional with strong technical knowledge and experience within financial services.
You will be commercially minded, analytical and confident working with stakeholders across an international organisation.
Ideally, you will have: A relevant qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CTA or ATTStrong UK Corporation Tax experience, including complex computations and capital allowancesExperience working within financial services, ideally within an international organisationKnowledge of VAT, or a strong interest in developing your VAT expertiseStrong UK tax compliance experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA high level of accuracy and attention to detailA proactive approach to identifying and resolving issuesStrong Excel and PowerPoint skillsExperience with automation toolsWhat's on Offer?60,000-70,000 salaryUp to 10% company bonus25 days' holiday, increasing to 30 days with service, plus bank holidaysEnhanced pension contributionEnhanced maternity and paternity benefitsPrivate healthcare and dental coverThis is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified tax professional with financial services experience to take ownership of a broad UK tax remit within an established international organisation, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the wider group.
