We are working with a well-established professional services business based in the West of Glasgow who are looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant to join a high-performing finance team and take ownership of management reporting for a defined business unit, supporting both financial control and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary
- Full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations
- Acting as a subject matter expert for the financial results of the assigned business unit
- Preparation, review and challenge of budgets, forecasts and business plans
- Maintaining and strengthening financial control processes
- Proactively identifying, suggesting and implementing process improvements
- Regular liaison with business unit stakeholders, supporting their understanding of financial performance
- Liaising with internal and external auditors
- Providing detailed P&L and balance sheet analysis
- Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as required
- Involvement in finance projects and wider business initiatives
Candidate Profile:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in fully preparing management accounts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional services environment
