Robert Half is partnering with a leading UK retail organisation to hire an Apple Systems Engineer for an initial 6-month contract, with a strong view to permanent. This role will act as a senior technical escalation point across the IT service desk while owning Apple-focused systems, endpoint management, and day-to-day IT operations within the London office. The position will play a key role in stabilising, improving, and scaling IT support as the organisation builds a London-based IT team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior escalation point across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line IT support
- Deliver high-quality, customer-focused support across macOS and Windows environments
- Own and continuously improve IT service desk processes and best-practice delivery
- Manage Apple device lifecycle management using Jamf and Microsoft InTune
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning and access management
- Support a remote workforce, including networking, VPN, and secure access requirements
- Troubleshoot server-related issues and collaborate with wider IT stakeholders as required
- Support cloud terminals, system changes, and operational improvements
- Take ownership of day-to-day IT operations within the London office
- Contribute to the growth and development of a future London-based IT team
Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience supporting macOS environments in an enterprise setting
- Good working knowledge of Windows systems
- Proven experience using Jamf and Microsoft Intune
- Solid understanding of user and device management
- Experience supporting remote and hybrid workforces
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and server troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT operations
- Experience within a retail or multi-site environment (desirable)
