Robert Half are thrilled to be working with a long-standing client with their search for a permanent Finance Lead offering hybrid working and up to £55,000. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with operational teams, influencing decision-making, improving performance, and leading a high-performing finance support function. You will take ownership of financial strategy, controls, reporting and commercial insight across the account. Acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will help drive sustainable growth, improve profitability, and support operational excellence.
Key Details:
- Salary: £50k - £55k + bonus
- Location: Bristol
- Working pattern: Hybrid - Bristol with ad hoc travel to other local office locations (SW/Wales)
Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial control activities across the Business Unit, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and improve cash flow, margins, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, including: Full P&L reporting with commentary and analysis, Balance sheet reconciliations, Forecasting and annual budgeting and Project profitability reporting.
- Deliver meaningful commercial insight to support operational decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with operational and divisional leadership teams.
- Conduct regular contract and business reviews, including site visits where required.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Contract Support Team through coaching, appraisals, and succession planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, raise performance standards, and influence positive change across the business.
Requirements:
- Part-qualified, finalist or qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience within a management accounting, finance business partnering, or commercial finance role.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Experience managing or mentoring finance/support teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
