Robert Half are working with a professional services organisation seeking an experienced Interim Finance Systems Manager to cover with specialist expertise in Elite 3E. This role is central to maintaining, developing, and optimising the firm's financial systems, ensuring seamless operations and effective financial control. Candidates with deep, hands-on Elite 3E experience will be considered on a fully remote basis, reflecting the specialist nature of the role.
Location: Bristol/Remote
Salary range: 65k-75k (depending on skills/experience levels, Inside Day rate contractors also considered)
Start date: ASAP (Ideally January at the latest)
Duration: 9-12 months
Key Responsibilities
- Elite 3E System Ownership: Act as the primary subject matter expert for Elite 3E, overseeing configuration, workflows, security profiles, and user access. Manage day-to-day system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure operational continuity across billing, time recording, AP/AR, and financial reporting modules.
- Upgrades, Development & Projects: Lead Elite 3E upgrades, patches, integrations and enhancement projects including scoping, testing, change control and implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the system aligns with operational and regulatory requirements. Liaise with vendors and technical teams to deliver fixes and improvements.
- Process Improvement & Data Governance: Review current processes and identify opportunities to streamline and automate finance workflows within Elite 3E. Maintain data integrity and ensure system structures support accurate reporting, MI and auditability. Introduce best-practice governance, documentation and financial control processes.
- Training, Support & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expert-level support to finance and firmwide users on Elite 3E functionality. Deliver training sessions, create user guides and ensure smooth onboarding for new users. Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders regarding system capability, risk and optimisation opportunities.
Experience & Profile
- Significant, hands-on experience with Elite 3E (mandatory).
- Proven track record managing or supporting a finance system within a professional services or complex financial environment.
- Experience with system upgrades, testing cycles, configuration, workflow management and reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and system data structures.
Skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose system issues and propose solutions.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable balancing strategic improvement work with hands-on system support.
- Rigorous approach to governance, documentation and change control.
