Our client has been appointed as the Competitively Appointed Provider (CAP) under the Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) model to deliver a major water infrastructure resilience programme in the Northwest of England. This multi-billion-pound infrastructure project will upgrade a critical water supply system serving Greater Manchester and surrounding regions. Role Overview
- Support the Design Management function across the full project lifecycle, with a focus on design programme control and Building Information Modelling (BIM) coordination.
- Work closely with the Design Lead to ensure alignment with design milestones and compliance with contractual review procedures.
- Maintain a lookahead planner for the release and approval of Reviewable Design Data (RDD).
- Attend design meetings and site visits as required.
- Support the preparation of project reporting, including monthly and quarterly progress updates and board reports.
- Ensure BIM models remain current and compliant with project information management requirements, including management of data drop interfaces.
- Support compliance of the RDD process with information management standards.
- Assist in coordinating design submission reviews, Requests for Information (RFIs), checking and approvals.
- Assist in managing design risks, value engineering and optioneering activities to optimise cost, programme and performance.
- Support the commercial management of design scope, changes and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate communication between design stakeholders, including meeting schedules, attendance tracking and production of meeting minutes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with BIM and ProjectWise systems (formal BIM training desirable).
Minimum Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in design coordination, design management support, BIM coordination or similar roles within construction or infrastructure environments.
- Practical experience working with BIM models and design documentation on live projects.
- Experience coordinating data management processes and ensuring compliance with design management procedures.
- Experience managing relationships with contractors and key stakeholders.
