We are seeking an immediately available Tax Accountant to join a large, complex finance team on a 6 month assignment. This role will focus primarily on UK Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting, with exposure to financial reporting and management accounting within a well-structured finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong UK tax experience who is available to interview and start immediately. Corporation Tax experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit UK corporation tax returns
- Manage quarterly corporation tax payments on account
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns
- Calculate and post current and deferred tax
- Support tax disclosures within statutory accounts
- Maintain tax controls, processes and governance documentation
- Support Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance
- Assist with capital allowances, transfer pricing documentation and CIR calculations
- Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors
- Support IFRS tax reporting requirements
- Support the monthly management accounts close
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Deliver variance analysis vs budget and forecast
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Support statutory reporting and audit processes
- Work with stakeholders across finance to improve reporting and controls
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong UK Corporation Tax experience
- Experience preparing VAT returns
- Knowledge of IFRS reporting
- Strong Excel and ERP system experience
- Experience with tax software (e.g. OneSource) preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Exposure to US GAAP or large group environments would be advantageous but not essential.
