Robert Half is exclusively representing a well-established, owner-managed manufacturing business in Sutton Coldfield as they appoint a Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and lead a small team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and close to the business. You'll have genuine ownership across the finance function, working closely with the Managing Director and getting involved across management accounts, forecasting, stock, costs and commercial performance. If you're looking for a varied Finance Manager position where you can make a tangible contribution rather than being one small part of a large finance structure, this could be a strong fit.
The roleYou will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of finance, managing a small team and ensuring the business has accurate, timely financial information to support decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include: Preparing accurate and insightful monthly management accountsManaging budgets, forecasts and financial planningTaking ownership of inventory accounting and stock controlManaging and understanding WIP and cost of salesAnalysing margins and profitabilityProviding the Managing Director with clear and reliable financial informationSupporting the business with financial analysis and decision-makingManaging and developing a small finance teamEnsuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting are maintainedWhat we're looking forThe successful candidate is likely to have: Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar hands-on finance roleStrong manufacturing finance experienceA thorough understanding of inventory, stock control and WIPStrong knowledge of margin analysis and cost of salesProven experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecastsThe confidence and capability to work closely with an owner/Managing DirectorA hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detailIdeally ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified; strong QBE candidates will also be consideredWhat's on offer?
