Robert Half are working in partnership with a private equity backed business based in Bristol to recruit a Risk Assurance Manager on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role that will join an ambitious business to ensure internal controls, risk framework and internal audit robustness.
This is a unique opportunity to own the design and ongoing improvement of risk and internal controls across the business, whilst maintaining day to day areas of control testing, documentation and reporting within the audit cycle. You will also lead in the implementation and development of AI tools and drive process improvement through adoption of technology.
The Risk Assurance Manager role will offer a highly competitive salary alongside company bonus and excellent benefits. The role is offered on a hybrid basis (1-2 days on site) with further potential flexibility for candidates coming from further afield.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the end to end delivery of internal audit schedule through to final delivery of reporting
- Working closely with stakeholders of all levels across the business to design and implement control testing
- Manipulation and analysis of data to identify and mitigate risk trends
- Develop and maintain the risk register
- Maintain clear working documentation and reporting to support conclusions
- Work closely with ELT/Board and operational leaders to highlight risk and control areas applicable. Educate and influence for tighter internal control opportunities
- Lead on the development of risk assurance tools and software alongside AI and analytical platforms
About your experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), this role would suit a candidate trained through practice, but all prior experience considered
- Grounding in internal audit, risk management and internal controls
- Experience within a Private Equity backed business advantageous
- Prior experience implementing process improvement through AI and associated tools
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills including data manipulation and analysis with large, complex datasets
