Job Title: Assistant Finance Officer Hours: Full time, permanent (4 days per week considered) Salary: £26-£28k FTE Location: Gloucestershire Robert Half is partnering with a national charity to recruit an Assistant Finance Officer on a permanent, part-time basis. Based in Gloucestershire, you\’ll support the Head of Finance by producing monthly management accounts, monitoring budgets, and preparing for audits and statutory reporting. Key Responsibilities Transactional Finance: Manage sales and purchase ledgers; monitor outstanding invoices Process bank receipts/payments and prepare payments for approval Perform monthly bank, petty cash, and supplier statement reconciliations Post monthly payroll, expenses, and related liabilities Record accruals, prepayments, and deferred income Prepare monthly Gift Aid reports and assist with VAT workings General Duties: Support the finance team in meeting KPIs and deadlines Assist staff and managers with financial queries Improve and streamline finance processes Contribute to financial projects and audit preparation What we are looking for Essential: ACA, ACCA, AAT, or CIMA (qualified or part-qualified) Bookkeeping experience Familiarity with QuickBooks Online Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processing Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities Double-entry bookkeeping Desirable: Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector Understanding of charity reserves and Gift Aid Knowledge of Dext Prepare, Approval Max, or similar tools Understanding of Gift Aid and VAT in charities If this sounds like the opportunity for you, apply today!
