A well-established and growing construction company in North Manchester is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team based in Middleton, Manchester. This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the financial and contractual management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to maximum profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation
  • Oversee contract negotiation and subcontract management
  • Handle valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Produce accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and payment processes
  • Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks
  • Ensure contractual compliance across projects
  • Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships
  • Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
  • Work closely with project managers and site teams to deliver successful outcomes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing construction project finances and contracts
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both on-site and in the office five days per week
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to commute to Middleton, North Manchester
