A well-established and growing construction company in North Manchester is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team based in Middleton, Manchester. This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the financial and contractual management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to maximum profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation
- Oversee contract negotiation and subcontract management
- Handle valuations, variations and final accounts
- Produce accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
- Lead subcontractor procurement and payment processes
- Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks
- Ensure contractual compliance across projects
- Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships
- Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to deliver successful outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience managing construction project finances and contracts
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work both on-site and in the office five days per week
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to commute to Middleton, North Manchester
