Robert Half are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance (12-Month FTC) to be based in Devizes, Wiltshire (Office Based) The Opportunity; A growing and successful business based in Devizes is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to join the organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team and playing a key role in supporting the company's continued growth and strategic development.
This position would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys balancing operational finance, business partnering, and strategic projects within a growing environment. Key Responsibilities; Lead, develop and support a finance team Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts Oversee costing and profitability analysis across distinct business lines. Deliver insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes.
Lead the annual audit process and act as the key point of contact for external auditors. Ensure VAT compliance and oversee all statutory financial obligations. Support payroll processes and financial controls. Manage CAPEX reporting, tracking and investment analysis. Work closely with the Finance Director on strategic initiatives and business improvement projects. Support M&A activity, including due diligence, analysis and integration support where required. Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting and controls.
Candidate Profile; The successful candidate will demonstrate: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Previous experience in a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager position. Strong management accounting and financial reporting capability. Experience within a multi-revenue stream or multi-division business. Knowledge of VAT, audit, payroll and statutory reporting requirements.
Advanced analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work closely with senior leadership. What's on Offer; £70,000 salary. 12-month fixed-term contract starting in December. Direct exposure to the Finance Director and senior leadership team. Varied role combining operational finance, commercial analysis and strategic projects.
