Company: This is a global award-winning and renowned architecture firm based in the City of London. They have designed and built hundreds of large-scale real estate and property projects, ranging from commercial and residential buildings through to cultural centres across several countries. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to hire an International Payroll Manager to solely manage the end-to-end payroll function across their various jurisdictions.
Role: Reporting into the Head of Finance, the International Payroll Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll as well as supporting treasury and cash functions. This role will combine strong UK payroll and PAYE expertise with international exposure, including foreign VAT. They will take on a number of key duties including:
- Take full ownership of UK and international payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
- Act as the subject matter expert on payroll taxes, including PAYE, NIC, pensions and year-end processes.
- Partner with HR and external providers on payroll-related matters, including starters, leavers and benefits.
- Oversee treasury and banking activities, including payments, cash management and liquidity planning.
- Maintain strong controls, reconciliations and audit readiness across payroll and cash processes.
- Manage compliance and regulatory requirements, including KYC, tax documentation and audit support.
- Support VAT reporting and international tax matters, liaising with external advisors where required.
- Provide oversight and guidance to junior team members, driving process improvements and best practice.
Profile: The ideal profile for this International Payroll Manager position based in the City of London should have the following attributes:
- Proven experience in UK and International Payroll management.
- Strong PAYE and payroll tax expertise.
- Solid understanding of VAT compliance including exposure to foreign VAT.
- Experience managing payroll within a multi-entity / international environment.
- Ability to work confidently across international jurisdictions.
- Experience overseeing junior team members' work.
- Experience with PayCircle would be advantageous.
