The Role This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational billing with people management.
Initially, you'll work alongside the billing team, taking ownership of complex billing activity while leading and developing a small team of Finance Assistants.
As the business grows, you'll play a key role in building scalable processes and expanding the team.
You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for insured and self-pay patients, improving processes, and helping standardise billing across multiple clinic locations.
Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and develop a team of Finance Assistants.
Manage the end-to-end billing process for insured and self-pay patients.
Oversee credit control and support cash collection activities.
Handle complex billing queries and insurer-related issues.
Develop and document robust billing processes that can be rolled out across new clinic locations.
Work closely with Finance, Clinical and Operational teams to ensure accurate patient billing.
Support month-end activities, reporting and continuous process improvement.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, automation and operational efficiency.
Play an integral role in supporting the organisation's continued growth and expansion.
About You We're looking for someone who combines strong operational billing experience with excellent leadership potential.
Ideally, you'll have: Experience within private healthcare, private hospital, medical practice or clinical billing.
Strong knowledge of Private Medical Insurance (PMI), insurer billing and/or self-pay patient invoicing.
Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading a billing or finance team.
A proactive approach to process improvement and continuous improvement.
Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance and patient management systems.
Experience in using Semble Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with a desire to improve how things are done.
Candidates from other high-volume billing environments with exposure to complex billing and team leadership will also be considered.
