About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented AAT/ACCA-qualified accountant to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit:
  • Self-assessment tax returns
  • Corporation tax returns
  • VAT returns
  • Manage client payroll accurately and within deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House regulations
  • Maintain and manage accounting records using:
    • Sage
    • QuickBooks
    • Xero
  • Provide general accounting support, guidance, and advice to clients
  • Handle bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks across multiple client accounts
  • Requirements

    • Minimum AAT qualification (ACCA qualified or part-qualified preferred)
    • Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero
    • Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and accounting standards
    • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts

    Desirable Skills

    • Previous experience working in an accountancy practice
    • Familiarity with additional accounting software

    Experience Required

    At least 1 year of experience in:

    • Self-assessment tax returns
    • VAT returns
    • Payroll
    • Bookkeeping
    • Accounts preparation and corporation tax returns

    Additional Requirements

    • Fluent in English
    • AAT/ACCA certification required
    • Ability to reliably commute to Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire or relocate prior to starting
