Robert Half is working with a fast-growing international renewable energy and infrastructure investment platform to recruit an Investment Associate into its Reading team. The business invests in, develops and operates large-scale renewable energy and energy storage infrastructure across the UK and international markets. With an expanding portfolio and ambitious growth plans, the business is continuing to identify, acquire and develop new investment opportunities across multiple technologies and geographies. This is an opportunity to join a small, entrepreneurial investment team and gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from origination and financial modelling through to due diligence, M&A, financing and asset performance. About the Opportunity The Investment Associate will support the commercial and investment appraisal of a growing portfolio of energy and infrastructure assets. Importantly, this is not solely a UK role. The successful individual will also support the wider European activities of the group's international parent, providing exposure to multiple technologies, transactions and markets. You will work closely with senior leadership and wider technical, commercial and legal teams, playing an active role in evaluating new opportunities and delivering the group's investment strategy. Key Responsibilities Build, develop and take ownership of financial models for existing assets and new investment opportunities. Undertake commercial analysis, investment appraisal, valuation and scenario analysis. Support the sourcing and screening of new investment opportunities across multiple markets and technologies. Contribute to M&A transactions, acquisitions, due diligence and financing processes. Work with technical, commercial and legal advisers to assess investment opportunities and incorporate findings into financial models. Support the preparation of investment papers, board materials and senior management presentations. Contribute to debt and equity fundraising at project and platform level. Analyse key commercial and operational value drivers and assess asset performance against relevant benchmarks. Support negotiations and execution of acquisition, financing and project-level agreements. Help develop and improve financial modelling and investment processes across the business. About You You will be a qualified finance professional with strong financial modelling and analytical experience and an interest in investment, infrastructure and the energy transition. You are likely to have: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or another relevant professional qualification. 5+ years' relevant experience in financial analysis, modelling, investment, M&A, corporate finance, transaction services or a similar environment. Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, including complex formulas and DCF valuation. Experience supporting transactions, due diligence, acquisitions, fundraising or investment appraisal. Strong commercial judgement and analytical ability. The ability to manage large volumes of information and distil key findings and risks clearly. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and external advisers. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently within a small, entrepreneurial team. Experience within renewable energy, energy storage or infrastructure would be advantageous, but is not essential. The ability to understand new sectors quickly and apply strong financial modelling and investment analysis skills is more important. What's on offer? Salary up to Β£80,000 Up to 30% discretionary annual bonus 6% matched employer pension contribution Private medical and dental cover Professional/accounting membership fees paid Minimum 3 days per week in the Reading office Exposure to an international portfolio across multiple technologies and geographies Broad involvement across investment, M&A, financing and asset management If you're a qualified finance professional with strong modelling skills and want to move into a role offering genuine exposure to international renewable energy investment, M&A and infrastructure, this could be an excellent next step.
