Interim Group Financial Controller 3-6 Month Interim Assignment | £450-£450 per day Umbrella | [Cheltenham / Hybrid] A senior interim opportunity with genuine ownership and direct CFO exposure Robert Half is exclusively supporting an established organisation in the appointment of an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller for an initial 3-6 month assignment. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key role within the finance leadership team and an opportunity for an experienced interim to step into a broad remit, take ownership and make a visible impact. This isn't a role where you'll simply be producing the numbers. You'll have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, the quality of financial reporting and controls, and the wider processes that support the business. Assignment details: Duration: 3-6 months Rate: £450-£450 per day Umbrella Location: Cheltenham, GL51 Start: ASAP Reporting to: CFO What you'll be doing: You'll take ownership across the full operational finance function, including: Leading the month-end close and delivery of accurate management accounts across P&L, balance sheet and cashflow Ensuring robust financial controls, reconciliations and balance sheet integrity Leading budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario planning Providing clear analysis and insight to the CFO and senior leadership team Owning cashflow forecasting and working capital management Overseeing debtor and creditor performance Managing the year-end statutory accounts and external audit Overseeing VAT and wider tax compliance Leading and developing the finance team Improving finance processes, systems, reporting and automation Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve financial visibility and decision-making Acting as a trusted partner to the CFO and deputising where required What we're looking for You'll be a qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - with a strong track record in Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance or a similar senior finance position. More importantly, you'll be someone who can hit the ground running. You'll have: Strong hands-on experience across management accounts and financial control A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow Experience with statutory accounts and audit Proven experience managing and developing finance teams Strong technical accounting knowledge The confidence to work with senior non-finance stakeholders A pragmatic, commercial approach Experience improving processes, systems and reporting The ability to operate independently and take ownership from day one Experience working across multiple entities would be advantageous.
