We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Finance Assistant to join a friendly finance team in Wokingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career, such as a recent graduate, college leaver, or someone looking to gain their first experience in finance. No previous payroll experience is required. Full training will be provided. The key is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
This role begins on a temporary basis with the intention of becoming permanent following a successful probation period.
The Role
- You will be working within a payroll and finance team of four, supporting a specialist area of payroll relating to CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), as well as assisting with Accounts Payable and general finance administration.
- This is a varied, hands-on role where you will gain exposure to payroll processing, purchase ledger, and general finance support tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting CIS payroll processing within the payroll team
- Assisting with Accounts Payable transactions and invoice processing
- Reconciling supplier accounts and ledger balances
- Supporting data entry, scanning, and document organisation
- Assisting with payment runs and routine finance checks
- Helping maintain accurate financial records
- Assisting with travel and hotel bookings when required
- Supporting the payroll and finance team with general administrative tasks
- Getting involved in ad hoc duties as required
About You
- Looking for your first role in finance or payroll

- Strong attention to detail and good numerical ability
- Organised and reliable
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
- Good communication skills and a team player
- Basic Excel and Microsoft Office skills advantageous
