A growing and well-established construction company is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of an expanding portfolio of projects. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects and work closely with senior leadership in a business that values autonomy, trust and professional development. The company operates across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial, public sector and heritage/listed building projects, with clients ranging from private organisations to public sector bodies such as schools, colleges and academy trusts.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will act as the key link between site teams, clients and senior leadership. From the moment a project is secured, you will take responsibility for organising the programme, coordinating the supply chain and managing the client relationship through to successful delivery. Projects typically range from £200k to £5m in value, and you will usually manage either two larger schemes or several smaller projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from initial setup through to completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project supply chain
- Act as the main client-facing contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project programmes using tools such as Microsoft Project
- Report progress, risks and updates to senior leadership
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required standards
- Work closely with design and engineering teams, developing a strong understanding of technical drawings and structural elements
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in a construction project management or site-based role
- Degree qualified in construction or a relevant discipline, or equivalent NVQ qualification
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and understand technical project requirements
- Confident client-facing communicator
