Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join an exciting Construction company experiencing huge growth based in Gloucester. For the right person, the client is offering a very competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 plus up to 8% bonus and 3 remote working days per week.
Role responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Establish monthly, quarterly and annual closings for the UK, including supporting VAT returns, CIS submissions and annual accounts preparation.
- Process multi-currency accounting entries and perform intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare income statement and balance sheet, process IFRS journals and adjustments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve queries.
- Support external audit preparation and coordinate with auditors on UK-specific matters.
- Organise regular training and follow-up sessions with the accounting team on ERP usage.
- Ensure correct coding, use of automation features, and compliance with group ERP standards.
- Identify and communicate ERP system improvements, issues and accounting process enhancements to the team.
- Build on existing processes and implement improvements in line with group policies.
- Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc analyses, budget preparation and cost reporting.
Person specification:
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Currently working within audit or a financial accounting role with IFRS exposure.
- In-depth knowledge of consolidation and reporting tools.
- Intermediate level Excel with a good knowledge of ERP systems.
