Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Kidlington to recruit a permanent Bookkeeper. This position offers a varied workload across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, VAT compliance and wider financial support. You will join a lovely, experienced team and benefit from flexible working hours while being based onsite.

The Role

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
  • Working pattern: Open to full-time or part-time (4 days per week)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Onsite role - potential to work from home one day per week following training & onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Handle general bookkeeping duties and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, including partial exemption reconciliations
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Process bank payments and support cash management activities
  • Assist with year-end duties (experience desirable but not essential)
  • Provide support with a small element of payroll where required
  • Support ad-hoc finance tasks as needed

Your Profile

  • Strong bookkeeping experience with solid AP and AR knowledge
  • Experience preparing VAT returns; partial exemption experience highly beneficial
  • Confident performing bank reconciliations and managing bank payments
  • Experience with monthly reconciliations (utilities, balance sheet items, etc.)
  • Some payroll exposure or willingness to support small payroll tasks
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Year-end experience desirable but not essential
