Company: This is a globally recognised consultancy & advisory firm based in central London. They primarily provide key data and intelligence that empowers corporations and investors to make more informed decisions and mitigate risks within a complex international market place. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a high-calibre Accountant to join and lead their UK operations, handling the day-to-day accounting & reporting.

Role: Reporting into the global CFO, the Accountant will ensure accurate and timely financial management for the UK operations, and to support both the IP practice and London office. They will be responsible for a number of key duties including:

  • Ownership of day-to-day UK accounting operations, including payroll entries, HMRC submissions, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Acting as the primary finance contact for the London office, supporting routine financial queries and office-related accounting activities.
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor invoices, payment runs, recurring expenses and cash movement between bank accounts.
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate general ledger records within NetSuite.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and audit preparation.
  • Providing financial reporting, bank statements and supporting documentation to Directors and external accountants for statutory filings.
  • Supporting the IP practice by maintaining accounting records across multiple entities, compiling WIP data and assisting with collections.
  • Ensuring all accounting activities comply with UK regulations, IFRS standards and internal control requirements.
  • Operating independently in a broad, hands-on accounting role within a small office environment.

Profile: The ideal profile for this Accountant position based in central London should have the following attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience) with broad experience in a similar sole Accountant capacity.
  • Strong experience in managing monthly reporting, and maintaining general ledgers.
  • Experience working within a professional services background.
  • Exposure to handling WIP reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of HMRC requirements and payroll processes.
  • Experience using NetSuite.

Salary / Package: £65,000 - £75,000 + additional benefits including:
