Robert Half are partnering with an established technology services business to recruit a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract. This position sits within a high-performing finance team and offers broad exposure across revenue accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Management Accountant to take ownership of key reporting processes while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a central role in delivering accurate revenue accounting, management reporting, and forward-looking financial analysis for a key division of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Revenue Accounting & Management Reporting
    • Monthly reporting of actual results, including revenue recognition across fixed price, annuity, and time & materials contracts.
    • Ownership of data integrity and accuracy across revenue streams.
    • Monthly reporting of revenue and gross margin by customer, deal, and revenue type.
    • Detailed analysis of results versus forecast and budget, providing clear variance explanations.
    • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including reconciliation of prior month accruals and timesheet compliance.
    • Preparation of month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Forecasting & Planning
    • Ownership of the monthly forecast process for a professional services division.
    • Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand pipeline, workload, and resource planning assumptions.
    • Supporting inputs into the Annual Operating Budget.
    • Managing and evolving KPI reporting, including building additional metrics where required.
  • Controls & Process
    • Responsibility for intercompany reconciliations, invoicing, recharges, and supporting analysis.
    • Ensuring balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations.
    • Supporting continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
    • Ensuring compliance with data protection and information security policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified or qualified by experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience in a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Proven experience in organisations with billable hours, such as law firms, management consulting, or IT consulting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition.
  • Solid experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a finance team and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
