HR Generalist

As the HR Generalist, you will play a key role in managing a wide range of HR activities, supporting both employees and management. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in day-to-day HR operations and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., * Provide operational HR support on a variety of matters, including employee relations, performance management, absence management, and disciplinary issues.

• Work closely with line managers and supervisors to ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to.

• Partner with union representatives to manage union-related issues, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and fostering strong, collaborative relationships.

• Support the recruitment and onboarding process, from drafting job descriptions to conducting interviews and induction programmes.

• Manage HR administrative duties such as maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and managing HR systems.

• Advise on employment law, company policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and minimise risk.

• Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects aligned with business goals.

• Previous experience in a HR Generalist role, preferably within a unionised, manufacturing or industrial setting.

• Strong understanding of employment law and experience working with unions and collective agreements.

• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.

• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
