Accounts Payable Manager
6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Surbiton (Hybrid - 2 days office, 3 days home)
Salary: £60,000-£70,000
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a growing international business during a significant period of transformation.
This role has a clear mandate to stabilise, improve and lead the Accounts Payable function across a complex multi-entity, multi-currency environment. You'll be responsible for driving team performance, strengthening controls, embedding accountability and delivering sustainable process improvements, while supporting ongoing automation and systems initiatives.
Managing a team of 12, you'll work closely with stakeholders across 25 international locations, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, change-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team, creating a high-performing culture.
- Manage two Team Leaders and support the wider AP function through change.
- Introduce and monitor KPIs to improve service levels, accountability and performance.
- Ensure invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Review aged creditors, parked invoices and outstanding exceptions, driving timely resolution.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance across the AP process.
- Standardise purchase order and invoice processes across multiple entities and regions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and reducing manual processes.
- Work collaboratively with finance and operational stakeholders to resolve root causes and implement long-term solutions.
About You
You'll bring proven experience leading an Accounts Payable function, ideally within a shared services or international business environment. You'll be a confident people manager with a track record of improving KPIs, driving operational change and developing high-performing teams.
Experience within multi-entity, multi-currency organisations is essential, and exposure to SAP S/4HANA or Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous.
