6-Month Fixed-Term Contract with Strong Potential to Become Permanent Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing business in Paisley to recruit an Accounts Assistant on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to join a supportive finance team, with a genuine opportunity for the role to become permanent.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations while gaining exposure to a broad range of finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Posting and processing journals accurately and efficiently
- Performing balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end reporting processes
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
- Analysing financial data and identifying trends or anomalies
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Managing sales ledger activities and raising invoices where required
- Credit control support and customer account management
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assisting with audit preparation and year-end requirements
- Producing ad hoc reports and analysis for senior management
About You
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role
- Strong understanding of journals, reconciliations and core accounting principles
- Comfortable analysing financial information and investigating variances
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving
