Our client is a rapidly growing, PE backed self-storage real estate business who currently operate nationally across the UK with growth projects expanding to Europe.
They are looking for a confident and forward thinking team-player to join their finance team and manage a portfolio of storage sites.
Responsibilities of the role:
Take ownership of the month-end close process for an allocated portfolio of UK self-storage sites.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for multiple entities/sites.
Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, deferred income and other relevant adjustments.
Ensure all income and expenditure is correctly recognised in the appropriate accounting period.
Prepare detailed P&L analysis and provide clear commentary on actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
Support with year-end accounting and reporting for the allocated portfolio of entities.
Prepare year-end journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Work closely with the Finance Director and external auditors throughout the year-end process.
Support the preparation of monthly group consolidations.
Prepare and review consolidation schedules and supporting analysis.
Assist with intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
Own the financial analysis for an allocated portfolio of sites.
Analyse revenue, occupancy, pricing, discounts, bad debts, operating costs and other key drivers of site performance.
Identify trends, risks and opportunities within the P&L.
Provide meaningful commentary rather than simply reporting variances.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the portfolio.
Support the wider finance team with the accounts payable and receivables processes.
Review supplier balances and investigate unusual or aged items.
Support the monitoring of customer receivables and bad debt.
Assist with cash flow reporting and cash forecasting.
