Robert Half is partnering exclusively with a well-established, profitable infrastructure and engineering organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a complex, large-scale business.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers broad exposure across statutory reporting, group reporting, technical accounting, audit, tax and financial controls, while providing genuine scope to improve processes and influence best practice across the wider finance function.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include
- Leading balance sheet control processes, reconciliations and risk management activities.
- Owning IFRS 16 lease accounting across the business, including technical guidance and monthly reconciliations.
- Preparing and analysing quarterly group reporting packs.
- Supporting the production of statutory accounts and associated reporting requirements.
- Leading external audit processes and acting as a key contact for auditors and stakeholders.
- Providing technical accounting guidance on evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting corporate tax activities, VAT and CIS compliance.
- Driving improvements to financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
- Partnering with senior finance and operational stakeholders across the business.
About You
- We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Practice-trained background, ideally from a recognised accountancy firm.
- Strong statutory reporting and financial reporting experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
- A proactive mindset with a desire to drive improvements and challenge existing processes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience gained within a medium to large-sized organisation.
- Exposure to group reporting environments.
- Experience with Alteryx or other finance automation tools.
- Prior involvement in audit management, tax compliance or financial control functions.
