Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead | Major UK Retailer | Central London or Manchester (Hybrid Working) | Up to Β£115,000 | Permanent Role
Please note: candidates must be available to start by December 2026.
Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead on behalf of a major UK retailer undergoing a significant transformation of its Finance function and the way Group Financial Reporting operates across the organisation.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Group Reporting professional to join the business at an important stage of its transformation journey. You'll bring strong listed-company reporting experience and use it to help shape how the organisation consolidates, reports and governs its financial information for the future.
The role offers the opportunity to step beyond traditional BAU reporting and work at the centre of a major change programme, influencing processes, controls, governance and ways of working across a large and complex organisation.
About the Position
As Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead, you'll take ownership of a key Group Reporting workstream and act as the subject matter expert across Consolidation, Group Reporting and External Reporting.
You'll work closely with senior leadership and a broad range of stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Audit and Transformation. Your experience will be particularly important in ensuring that the future operating model reflects the practical realities of running Group Reporting within a complex listed business.
This is not a pure transformation or systems role. The successful candidate will have spent a significant part of their career actually running and owning Group Reporting, and will now have the opportunity to apply that experience to how the function operates in the future.
Day-to-day, you'll:
- Lead the future design of Group Consolidation, Group Reporting and External Reporting.
- Use your practical experience to shape reporting processes, controls, governance and ways of working.
- Provide subject matter expertise across IFRS consolidation, intercompany, group adjustments and statutory reporting.
- Partner with senior Finance, Technology, Audit and Transformation stakeholders, acting as the bridge between technical reporting requirements and practical delivery.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve existing Group Reporting processes.
- Challenge existing ways of working and help create a more efficient, controlled and scalable reporting environment.
- Support implementation, testing, transition and the first reporting cycles within the new operating model.
What We're Looking For
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Significant post-qualified experience in Group Reporting, Group Consolidation or External Reporting.
- Strong experience gained within a large listed, multinational or similarly complex organisation.
- Deep and recent knowledge of IFRS Group Reporting, consolidation, statutory reporting, intercompany and group adjustments.
- Experience working across multiple entities, business units and/or jurisdictions.
- A genuine hands-on Group Reporting professional who understands the challenges of running a complex reporting function.
- Experience of leading change, improving processes or supporting a significant Finance transformation would be advantageous.
- Must be available to start by December 2026.
Here's What's Waiting for You
- Up to Β£115,000 base salary.
- Hybrid working from either Central London or Manchester (3 days per week in the office)
- Genuine ownership of a critical Group Reporting workstream.
- The opportunity to influence the future operating model for Group Finance.
- A role combining technical Group Reporting expertise with transformation, change and stakeholder leadership.
Why This Role Could Be Your Next Move
For someone who has spent years managing complex reporting cycles within a listed environment, this is an opportunity to take that experience and use it to shape what comes next.
You'll be joining a major UK retailer at a significant point in its Finance journey, with the opportunity to influence how Group Reporting operates across the organisation rather than simply inheriting an established process.
The scale of the business means you'll be dealing with complex group structures, multiple entities and significant reporting requirements, while working alongside senior Finance stakeholders on a transformation that will have a lasting impact.
For an experienced Group Reporting Senior Manager, Head of Group Reporting or equivalent who wants to broaden their experience beyond BAU reporting, this offers the opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with genuine transformation exposure and have a visible impact.
