The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their established finance team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised finance professional to play a key role within a diverse and growing organisation operating across multiple sectors. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will support a broad range of finance and bookkeeping activities whilst helping to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices using Sage 200
- Assisting with month-end accounting processes
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Supplier statement and account reconciliations
- Allocating customer and supplier payments
- Preparing payment runs
- Credit control and debt collection activities
- Processing inter company recharges
- Supporting day-to-day finance administration and reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records
About You
You'll be an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a varied role and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 year's experience within a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role
- Previous Sage 200 experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software
- Payroll experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Confident communication skills
