Accounts Payable Manager - 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Surbiton (Hybrid - 2 days in the office, 3 days from home)

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a growing international organisation during a key period of transformation. This role is focused on leading the AP function through change, improving team performance and accountability, and supporting ongoing finance systems and process improvements.
Managing a team of 12 (including two Team Leaders), you'll oversee Accounts Payable operations across 25 locations internationally, working with stakeholders in multiple time zones including South Africa, St Martin and Costa Rica. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys driving change, developing people and creating a high-performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage two Team Leaders and support the development of the wider AP function.
- Implement and monitor KPIs, ensuring supplier payments and service levels are consistently achieved.
- Review aged AP, identify recurring issues and improve processes to reduce backlogs and exceptions.
- Drive compliance with purchase order and invoice processes across multiple business locations.
- Support ongoing finance transformation, including systems implementation and automation projects.
- Investigate the root cause of operational issues and coach the team to prevent repeat errors rather than simply resolving them.
- Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders across international locations to improve processes and ways of working.
- Oversee a smooth handover from the current AP Manager before their departure.
About You
- Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function within a medium or large organisation.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of improving team performance and holding people accountable.
- Experience leading change, implementing KPIs and driving process improvements.
- Confident working within a multi-site, international environment.
- Previous exposure to finance systems implementations or automation projects is highly desirable.
