Birmingham City Centre, Up to Β£36k Plus benefits and Hybrid working Client Accountant
We are recruiting for a Client Accountant to join an established property and asset services organisation. You'll manage accounting across a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely financial services.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Accounting
- Manage client and property trial balances.
- Prepare client and management reports.
- Handle service charge and rent accounting.
- Reconcile cash, invoices, and client accounts.
- Resolve accounting and client queries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and systems.
- Manage service charge year-end reconciliations.
- Prepare completion statements and funding requests.
- Ensure client income is paid accurately and on time.
- Support client audits and financial reviews.
- Lead client calls and manage external stakeholders.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of properties and clients.
- Assist with coaching junior accounting team members.
Operations & Risk
- Follow internal procedures, RICS guidelines, and client money regulations.
- Review outputs from internal and offshore teams.
- Identify and escalate financial risks and issues.
- Maintain accurate compliance and reporting records.
Systems
- Use property management and accounting systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
Knowledge & Experience
- 2-3 years' property or client accounting experience.
- Understanding of service charges, rent, and client money.
- Experience with property management systems.
- PM&A Tramps experience desirable.
- Knowledge of RICS/client money regulations desirable.
