Robert Half are recruiting an Accountant on a short term basis for a well-established bookkeeping and accountancy practice near Cirencester.
Working directly with the Director, you will play a key role in preparing management accounts and draft year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accountancy practice experience who can quickly become productive and work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients.
Assisting with the preparation of draft year-end accounts.
Reviewing bookkeeping records and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Performing bank, control account and balance sheet reconciliations.
Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies and queries.
Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting compliance requirements.
Liaising with the Managing Director regarding client work and deadlines.
Providing general accounting and bookkeeping support as required.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is highly desirable.
Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
Experience preparing management accounts and draft statutory/year-end accounts.
Confident using accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise effectively.
