Robert Gordon’s College is seeking an HR Transformation and Projects Lead to develop and execute key HR initiatives that drive organisational effectiveness, enhance employee engagement and people strategy, and foster a positive workplace culture. In this role, you will work closely with the HR Operations Lead and the College's senior leadership to optimise HR systems, policies, and processes – ensuring their seamless execution and alignment with the College’s needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading HR Projects : design and deliver HR initiatives that improve HR efficiency, simplify processes, and enhance the employee value proposition, including implementation of the new HRIS to streamline operations;
  • Employee Engagement and Wellbeing : develop and execute engagement strategies, analyse employee feedback and lead initiatives to support wellbeing, equity, diversity and inclusion;
  • Leadership and Performance Development : implement a performance management framework, create leadership development programmes, and oversee training and professional development;
  • Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition : work closely with the finance team to align workforce planning with business strategy, develop and implement recruitment strategies, and establish succession planning frameworks;
  • Reward and Recognition : review and optimise compensation and benefits programmes, using market data and HR analytics to inform decision-making; and
  • Policies and Employee/Industrial Relations : review and refine HR policies, support the HR Operations Lead in managing complex employee relations cases, and nurture constructive and collaborative relationships with unions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in HR project management.
  • Successful track record in leading change and delivering complex HR initiatives, with the ability to manage sensitive stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices in employee engagement, leadership development, rewards and benefits and ER/IR.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Chartered CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in education, charity, or public sector HR.
