The School of Pharmacy, Applied Sciences and Public Health at RGU is looking to appoint Lecturers in Clinical Practice to support the delivery of pharmacy courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This is a permanent post, open to full or part time applicants, and the role is suitable for applicants with a wide range of clinical backgrounds, including nursing, physician associate or medical as well as pharmacy.

This role is an exciting opportunity for applicants who wish to be at the forefront of the fast paced and evolving landscape of pharmacy education. We already have a highly successful course portfolio: the undergraduate Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) course and postgraduate degrees in Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Advanced Pharmacy Practice, along with the Independent Prescribing course and the new BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. We are currently involved in the delivery of the MPharm course and postgraduate course portfolio in response to the new GPhC education and training standards.

You will be passionate about enhancing the student experience and committed to integrating practice into academia. Teaching is delivered both on-campus and online and you will be expected to take the lead on developing and delivering content for students. You will be expected to be able to work flexibly and responsively with regards to team and workload requirements and show a commitment to engage in scholarly activity, for personal and professional development.

In keeping with RGU's commitment to work/life balance we will consider applicants from a healthcare background who would be interested in retaining a commitment to 'real life' practice. This may include, for example, secondments and we would be very interested in discussing innovative models for this role and working with external partners to offer flexibility.

You will also have the opportunity to work from home for a portion of the academic year, but you must be able to deliver teaching on campus in Aberdeen during teaching weeks to meet course requirements. You will benefit from a very generous pension scheme, 46 days annual leave pro rata (including statutory holidays and Christmas closure), an onsite nursery and sports centre as well as a range of voluntary health and travel benefits.

Grade 7 Salary Scale: £39,906 – 46,049
Grade 8 Salary Scale: £47,389 – 56,535
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience. Candidates with limited or no prior experience as an academic will be placed on the first point of the Grade 7 scale. Consideration will be given to offering an Academic Attraction Payment (adjusted annually) for those candidates who have specific industry knowledge, skills or expertise which are required for the position.
