Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it’s like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community. The purpose of this role is to help the Health, Safety and Environmental Department in carrying out duties which ensure compliance with legislation and conformity to recognised standards. The HSE internship is a varied one, involving contact with every part of the business, and no day is the same in such a busy manufacturing environment. You will have a chance to learn about manufacturing, logistics, research and development, facilities management and service. Some of the department functions include conducting audits and inspections, data collection, assisting with investigations and providing help and advice for a wide variety of questions across the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing safety and environmental initiatives with the HSE Officer and other working groups.
  • Conducting HSE inspections and internal audits.
  • Ensuring occupational health surveillance is carried out.
  • Collating accident data and maintaining electronic and paper HSE records.
  • Communicating key HSE information to management and employees.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the company management systems.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate must have:

  • An undergraduate student with a desire to complete a 12 month work placement as part of your degree studies.
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with people.
  • Ability to plan and organise time effectively.
  • Good attention to detail (ability to analyse information) and a quality mind-set.
  • Ability to take initiative and be tenacious in achieving goals.

Our ideal candidate should have:

  • Confident with the ability to approach and speak to other people with ease.
  • Great organization and communication skills.
  • A drive to develop and learn in the placement.

Contract Duration: 1 year.

Working hours: 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and 07:00 – 12:00 Friday.
