We are currently looking for 2 apprentices in our Machine Shop department who have the determination to succeed as well as a desire to learn and develop within a dynamic business environment. The role will be 37 hours per week and report directly to the Machine Shop Manager. The company will support you through SVQ3 level plus HNC qualifications during the 4-year apprenticeship. The first year will be based full time at college with the remaining 3 years based on site. Subsequent years will be spent learning all aspects of CNC Machining in our Machine Shop.

Qualifications Skills Required:

  • Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and to follow instruction.
  • Ability to approach problems logically.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation both verbally and written.
  • Attend both college and the workplace for the duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Complete all training modules successfully and in a timely manner with the support of external auditors.
  • Develop mechanical knowledge and experience in the field of CNC machining.
  • Develop a full understanding of all metrology and tooling used to support production.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and documentations.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 4 National Five Qualifications at Level 4 or above. Mandatory subject qualifications are English, Maths, a Science and technical related subjects including Graphic Communication / Physics.
  • Applicants with a relevant NC qualification of Intermediate 2 Maths plus one Higher (Science/Technical related subject at a Grade C or above may be considered).
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering or Scientific Technology would be advantageous.
