Job Description (Bosch Ventures or RBVC) is the corporate venture organisation for Bosch. RBVC's goal is to identify collaboration opportunities and fund investments in emerging and innovative technologies and business models that will enhance the core business scope of Bosch, particularly in the focus areas of long-term growth markets such as Climate Tech, Automation & Electrification, Enabling Technologies, and Healthcare Systems.
A RBVC Senior Investment Director will generate deal flow, pre-select attractive deals and support the due diligence and execution of investments (e.g., structuring and negotiating), and support Investment Principals/Partners with adding value to portfolio companies. It is expected that they will play an active role in shaping the organisation of RBVC, support the management of the internal/external contact network and RBVC’s future strategy.
Senior Investment Directors are expected to bring a valuable network which could help the team to assess the deal flow as well as to find internal and external experts in the specific RBVC search areas for due diligence purposes.
Background and experience:
- A candidate at this level will have five years of relevant professional experience or more.
- Ideal candidates have either technical or strategic/commercial experience, while showing strong business acumen.
The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
- Entrepreneurial thinking, market know-how in relevant search clusters
- Technical background and strong relevant external network
- Venture Capital valuation and transaction experience
- Strong personality and team ability
- Mobility and flexibility
Qualifications:
- Ability to comprehend a technology and to understand the technical and commercial challenges in a development process, in at least one of RBVC’s search clusters.
- Strategy & business development know-how: Ability to grasp a business model and understand the challenges in building the business
- Experience in analysing a variety of business models
- Experience in analysing markets and strategies
- Know-how in assessing investment opportunities
- Financial knowledge
- Basic external accounting knowledge
- Financial modelling or equivalent experience
- Ability to present the team in a professional way
- Networking skills (entrepreneurs, research institutes, other corporates, politics, academia) with good relevant internal network
- Native English language skills (in speech and writing)
- Persuasiveness
- Credibility
- Ability to act at senior management level
