All we require is your commitment to the Apprenticeship Programme and your eagerness to grow into a highly skilled Autocare Technician. For those who excel, there\βs potential to advance to the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship upon completing the Level 2 Autocare Technician standard. To be eligible, you must have attained a grade 4 or above in maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent.
Your duties will include mastering the fundamentals of vehicle systems such as:
- Steering & suspension
- Braking systems
- Battery & charging systems
- Exhaust systems
- Air-conditioning systems
The curriculum also covers modules on interpersonal skills, customer service, parts management, stock levels, ADAS, FGAS, and basic electrical vehicle awareness.
Upon successful completion, you\βll attain the Autocare Technician Level 2 qualification, paving the way for a career in automotive technology.
The Level 2 Autocare Technician apprenticeship is delivered on a block release basis at the Alliance Training Centre in Doncaster. You will attend college-based training for 15 weeks over 24 to 30 months. All training costs are covered by the employer/program. Workplace assessments will be conducted by a dedicated assessor, with support from a workplace mentor at the dealership.
After completing the apprenticeship, you will earn the Autocare Technician Level 2 qualification. There may also be an opportunity to progress to the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship.
Requirements include GCSE grades 4-9 (A-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English. No specific skills are necessary, but a genuine interest in the automotive industry is essential.
Prospects include the possibility of a permanent position upon successful completion.
