The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 Β£ per year.
Due to continuing growth within the organisation, we are seeking to expand our Civils Team offering by employing dedicated resources in this area. Working with a high performing, service-oriented, collaborative team. This is an exciting time for Robert Bird Group, as we go through continual expansion and have a full portfolio of landmark buildings, master planning and infrastructure projects which presents an opportunity for someone looking to further their career within a thriving engineering consultancy.
Duties
- Technical Design
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of engineering design standards when developing scheme designs.
- Undertake designs considering the following competencies:
- Utility coordination
- Vehicle Restraint System Design
- Traffic Signage/road marking design
- Drainage design (highway drainage with SuDs features)
- Pavement designs
- Earthwork Review
- Geometric design of highways (design not fully necessary however does require ability to review and comment)
- Legal process and statutory approval process management and development for highway schemes.
- Using tools to measure and actively reduce carbon output on all our projects
- Proven engineering problem solving utilising sound theoretical approach
- Proven ability to deliver schemes from concept through to construction issue compliant schemes.
- Understanding BIM documentation and workflows during project delivery.
- Experience in producing detailed fee estimates and bid documentation.
- Experience managing, preparing and controlling project finances (cost/budgets).
- Experience managing design contracts ensuring adherence to policy and procedure.
- Ability to develop and manage project delivery programmes with proven and continued record of successful project delivery.
- Collecting, preparing and compiling of fee projections for the UK business.
- Proven ability to manage risks within design considering residual risk management and project risk management demonstrating ability to manage hazards and implement safe systems of working.
- Compliance with and overseeing management and implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures within area of responsibility.
- Demonstration of best working practices and contribution towards improvements within health and safety.
- Ability/ proven experience mentoring junior staff members and providing support within design and career growth opportunities.
- Supervising colleagues under your direction and offering pro-active advice in relation to problem solving issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to allow clear communication of designs to varying audiences.
- Exhibit organisational capabilities considering working on multi discipline designs.
- Manage quality processes and contribution to improvement initiatives promoting best practice.
- Proactively and ethically motivating and leading project teams to deliver superior outcomes.

- BEng (Hons) or MEng (Hons).
