Roar Fitness

Company Description

Roar Fitness operates leading results-driven personal training gyms in the City of London, Kensington and Dubai. The brand is recognised for its high-performance training environment and focus on client transformation and measurable results.

Founded by three-time Olympian Sarah Lindsay and transformation specialist Rich Phillipps, Roar combines elite training expertise with a premium, highly personalised client experience.

As the business continues to grow and expand its offering, we are looking for an experienced Regional General Manager to lead the performance and operations of our two London locations.

Role Description

The Regional General Manager is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of Roar’s London sites.

The role combines people leadership, business performance and exceptional client service with direct responsibility for the successful day-to-day running of both locations. You will manage and develop our Front of House teams, monitor business performance and KPIs, manage costs, and maintain high standards across facilities, health & safety and the client experience.

As a small, entrepreneurial business, this role requires a high degree of ownership and independent thinking. We are looking for someone who can quickly understand what is happening within the business, identify problems and opportunities and make confident decisions without waiting for direction.

Continuous improvement will be a key part of the role. You will be expected to challenge inefficient ways of working, develop new ideas and processes and take responsibility for implementing improvements that positively impact client experience, team performance, efficiency and commercial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational and commercial performance of Roar’s two London locations.
  • Manage, develop and support Front of House teams, driving accountability, high performance and exceptional service standards.
  • Monitor and analyse KPIs including sales, new clients, revenue, attendance, retention and renewals, translating data into clear actions.
  • Identify operational or commercial problems and opportunities, developing and implementing effective solutions and improved processes.
  • Maintain exceptional standards across the client journey and take ownership of escalated client issues where required.
  • Manage expenditure, invoices, client payments and credit control.
  • Take responsibility for facilities, maintenance, equipment, contractors, stock and supplier management across both locations.
  • Own Health & Safety and Fire Safety standards, ensuring all required checks, risk assessments, records and actions are completed.
  • Manage operational staffing requirements including recruitment, rotas, onboarding, training, performance and absence.
  • Lead the operational delivery of new services, products and business initiatives.
  • Provide clear reporting, insight and recommendations to the COO and Leadership Team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong operational leadership and people management skills, including team development, performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Proven experience within a smaller or boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality or premium service-led environment, with an understanding of high-end client expectations.
  • Experience working in a hands-on environment with broad responsibility and the autonomy to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, including marketing, revenue management, KPI tracking and cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and successfully implement new ideas, systems or processes.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve performance.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship-management skills, with a strong focus on client experience and retention.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proficiency with CRM, scheduling and business management systems, spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • A genuine and established interest in fitness and wellness, with training and exercise already an important part of your own lifestyle.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach and the ability to thrive within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business.
