Unique product sales opportunity for a dynamic, friendly, and engaging salesperson. The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, antiques, and collectibles. We set up scheduled Regional acquisition events locations throughout the region, where customers come to sell us their estate items – primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches, collectables and antiques. This is an acquisition-focused role where success is measured by the quality and volume of inventory purchased rather than traditional outbound sales. No cold calling, no prospecting, and no high-pressure sales – just a friendly and informative process.

Our robust, fully paid five‑week training program focuses on industry‑standard techniques for identifying and authenticating precious metals. No jewelry buying experience is necessary – we provide full training. The most important quality we are looking for is the ability to connect effectively with customers. Buyers will be assigned to shows both within their home region and in locations that require extended travel. An example of the standard working schedule follows a consistent two‑week cycle but may vary occasionally depending on the business needs: 5 days on / 1 day off / 5 days on / 3 days off. Week 1 typically runs Tuesday–Saturday and Week 2 typically runs Monday–Friday. Buyers should expect to travel approximately two weeks each month. Travel is fully paid – both your time, as well as all travel expenses. Travel may include assignments outside your home region where flights and lodging will be arranged. During these travel periods, your scheduled days off will be spent in the destination city. While you’ll have free time to explore or rest, flying home for personal obligations during off-days is not logistically feasible. When assigned to shows within your home region, travel is typically done using your own reliable transportation. These assignments may offer more personal scheduling flexibility with advance notice and alignment with business needs. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, are comfortable being on the road, and can commit to a structured schedule with regular travel. There is no cold calling in this role – meet with warm, pre‑qualified leads.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain quick relationships with customers.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Negotiate deals and pricing on the items that the company purchases.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement.
  • Supportive and high‑energy work environment.

About You

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a travel or field sales role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work in small teams.
  • Fast learner.
  • Willingness to travel for multiple days at a time.
  • Ability to adapt to different markets and customer needs.

Requirements for the Role

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored visa support.
  • Willingness to complete a skills‑based assessment as part of the interview process to demonstrate role‑relevant knowledge and abilities.
  • Completion of a 5‑week training program is required for employment, consisting of one week of classroom‑based training in Chicago, followed by four weeks of hands‑on training at live events.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and current auto insurance in your state of residence.
  • Valid Real ID or other TSA‑approved credential required for domestic air travel.
  • Ability to commit to a structured travel schedule, including overnight stays and multi‑day trips on a recurring basis.

What We Offer

  • Job Type: Full‑time, hourly
  • Base Pay: $60,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
  • 50% ($1,250) to be paid once they complete the 5‑week training.
  • 50% ($1,250) to be paid at the 90‑day mark if all basic requirements are met.
  • Medical Vision Short‑Term Disability Employer‑Paid Basic Life Insurance 401(k) matching PTO Paid Holidays

The Heartland Roadshow is committed to a fair, respectful, and inclusive hiring process, evaluating candidates based on their experience and alignment with the role. If you need assistance or accommodation at any point during the application or interview process, please contact our Human Resources team at Careers@heartlandroadshow.com. Employment is contingent on a post‑offer background screening conducted in compliance with applicable law (including NYC Fair Chance Act), with an individualized, job‑related assessment. In New Jersey, this occurs after the initial interview or conditional offer, consistent with state law.
