We are recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for a farm in York, YO61. A position has arisen for a Pig Stockperson to work on a modern, 600-sow breeding unit over 2 sites in YO61. The pig units operate on a weekly weaning system, with farrow-to-finish. Our client seeks an experienced stockperson who can manage their own work and maintain the unit's excellent performance. Experience preferred but not essential, as on-site training can and will be given.
Candidates will ideally have:
- Experience with pig husbandry across all aspects, including farrowing and serving
- Good communication skills
- Good record keeping
- Be able to work in a team but manage oneself
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic with great attention to detail
- High welfare standards
Salary: £30,000 DOE
Plus:
- Pension scheme
- 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
Hours: Weekend work 1 in 2 on.
