Pig Stockperson in West Sussex

We\’re recruiting a Pig Stockperson for a family farm in West Sussex, BN44.

The 400-sow unit is a farrow-to-finish operation, all of which is outdoors. Pork is sold as free-range to butcher shops and food processors in London and the south-east.

The job description:

• All aspects of feeding
• Pen/equipment rotation and movement
• Developing a deep understanding of the farm system and being able to work independently
• Working as part of a team in the farrowing area
• Tractor driving
• Maintaining high welfare standards

Salary: Starting rate £13 per hour

Plus:

• On-site self-contained annexe for a single person
• A workplace pension

Hours:

Flexible to suit the candidate (4 weekdays and 1 weekend day required). Suggested hours: 42 per week, 9 hours Mon-Thurs and 6 hours Sunday. Overtime is available most of the time.
